  • chairman of the Specialized Scientific Council for Condensed Matter Physics (a national Council that awarded Ph.D. and Dr.Sci. degrees in the field of Condensed Matter Physics)
  • member of the General Assembly of the Bulg. Acad. of Sci. (the Assembly is one of the governing bodies of the Academy)
  • vice-president of the Union of the Physicists in Bulgaria
